EMDR Breakup Bootcamp

Have you ever felt like a “basket case” after a breakup?

Melanie* did…

She was obsessively reviewing memories of her ex in her head. She couldn’t stop thinking of how things might have turned out differently. She was fixating on painful memories and just couldn’t move forward with her life.

Why did it have to be this way?
Why can’t I just get over this?
How long am I going to feel this way?

Are you ready to move on?

If so, you’re in the right place. I can’t help you forget your ex or erase your life together, but I can help you feel less distressed when you think of them and the memories of your relationship.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) can help. EMDR is a special technique that will help you loosen your attachment to painful events and memories.

Best of all… unlike traditional talk therapy, you don’t have to examine the cause of problems in depth (e.g., why you might choose to date people who are wrong for you). And, when it comes to treating trauma, it’s faster than talk therapy, too!

Here’s how it works…

I know you’ll be coming to me in pain… with thoughts of your past relationship “stuck on repeat” in your head… and intense feelings triggered by memories of your ex.

After doing EMDR, you’ll no longer experience these memories as triggering and as if they just happened. Instead, they’ll feel like they happened a long time ago.

We’ll start by having you recall a triggering memory with your ex. While you’re thinking about it, I’ll prompt you to move your eyes back and forth and expose you to alternating sounds in your ears.

After several sessions of EMDR, the pain of the breakup – the feelings of jealousy, anger, or resentment – will all feel more “distant.” The memories will feel like an old movie: Where before it felt sharply focused and brightly colored, it will now feel like a blurry black-and-white photo.

Science doesn’t know why it works, but research has demonstrated that it DOES help you reprocess and move past the trauma. And, let’s face it: Heartbreak is traumatic!

Are you ready to feel relief and get your life back?

With EMDR, you won’t forget your ex. But it won’t upset you to think about them, and you’ll soon think about them less.

It might be hard to imagine right now, but you can get over your painful breakup and fall just as deeply in love again.

You can make this shift so that the pain of your breakup will become a dim memory of the past.
